IN SEARCH OF A TRUE GREAT LEADER

Assalamualikum W.B.T. dan Salam Sejahtera,




1. Much has been said about what makes a true great leader.

2.Yes we all know, a company will make or break,  depending on the capability, ability, characters and attributes of its' leader. 

3.If we ask around what are the qualities of a true great leaders, we will get endless traits and qualities. However, it may also differ depending on the environment and culture.

4. Among them that I would like to list down which I found very important that all leaders must have are as: 

    i) A Good Communicator: A good leader listen. Willing to understand the needs and desires of others. He need to listen more and understand correctly all "messages" send by the subordinates and people in the organisation. 

    ii) Respectful:  Treating others with respect will ultimately earn respect. Respect must be earned, it does not come free. Respect has long been practice in our culture, at home, in the society and office too.

   iii) Delegator : Trust the team member. Able to delegate and share responsibilities with other members of the management. Many things will get stuck and delayed if it just centered around the leader.

  iv) Rewarding: Able to recognise the efforts of others and reinforce those actions. Everyone enjoy being recognised for what they have done. It is not necessarily in terms of material but an appreciation with Thank You will do.

   v) Open Minded: Able to take into account all points of view and be willing to change even if you need to change the policy, program, systems or processes. 

  vi) Interested in Feedback: How do people feel about your leadership skill set? These are important questions that a leader needs to constantly ask the people around him.View feedback as gift to improve. 

 vii) Be mindful of your own ego as it serves little to no purpose in your own development as a human being and it will affect others around you and the organisation you are leading.

It is indeed not an easy responsibility when one accept the position of a leader, be what ever the size of the organisation or company. However when once one has accepted to take the tasks of a leader, he must full fill the job requirement with great responsibility and sincerity. In Sha Allah it can be done. @ 01.02.2014
